Koneru came from way behind to win Women's Grand Prix

After trailing Armenian GM Danielian for the entire tournament, Humpy Koneru scored 5.5/6 after the break to win the 2011 Doha Grand Prix on tiebreaks! It is an amazing clutch performance, especially when only 3 players out of 12 have plus scores.

As the chair of the FIDE Commission for Women's Chess, I would like to congratulate Humpy for this very important performance of her career and to Elina for her impressive results.

I would also like to thank the organizer, sponsors, and all the people behind the scene for putting together a magnificent women's event!
