The North American Chess Association, in association with International Educational and Cultural Services, is pleased to bring the following events to the chess community:

World Amateur Chess Championship
The 2010 World Amateur Chess Championship is being held at the Holiday Inn Skokie North Shore Hotel from March 19 - 25. This is the first time this event has been held in the
$20,000 USD Prize Fund Unconditionally Guaranteed!
(Overall): $3000 - 2000 - 1600 - 1400
(Women): $1000 - 600 - 400 - 200
(1799 - 1600): $1000 - 600 - 400 - 200
(1599 - 1400): $1000 - 600 - 400 - 200
(Under 1400): $1000 - 600 - 400 - 200
(Unrated): $1000 - 600 - 400 - 200
In addition to the cash prizes available the following additional prizes are present:
- The FIDE Master title for the winner of the event
- The Woman's FIDE Master title for the top placing female player of the event
- 2 scholarships valued up to $36,000 each to
EF is only $120 paid online until March 18 @ 6pm or postmarked by March 13. Onsite EF is $160.

Intercontinental School Team Championship
The International Educational and Cultural Services presents the Intercontinental School Team Championship on March 26 - 28.
This is a team based event with 4 players per team in the following age groups:
- Under 10 - (date of Birth - January 1, 2000 and after)
- Under 12 - (date of Birth - January 1, 1998 and after)
- Under 14 - (date of Birth - January 1, 1996 and after)
- Under 16 - (date of Birth - January 1, 1994 and after)
- Under 18 - (date of Birth - January 1, 1992 and after)
EF is $200 for a team of 4 players. All 4 players must be in the same age group. You may enter as many teams as you can field.

FIDE Arbiters Seminar
The first ever FIDE Arbiters Seminar will be held from March 22 - 25. The seminar is required for any individuals looking to achieve the designation of FIDE Arbiter.
The schedule of topics is as follows:

Participation fees: $250USD. Fee includes lunch served each day and the FIDE examination fee. The lecturer maintains the right to alter the schedule of discussion as long as all topics listed above are covered.

25th North American Masters
Yes we're at #25 already! It's hard to believe that a single event ran by myself and my good friend Glenn Panner multiplied itself over and over again. It's been quite an adventure and definitely with bumps along the way. Here is the info on this event:
- March 20 - 24 (5 days)
- Holiday Inn Skokie Hotel -
- 9R-SS G/90 + 30/sec increment
- GM/IM/WGM/WIM norms available
- Minimum 5 GM's to play
- EF: $200 flat for everyone rated over 2250 FIDE on the January rating list;
- Round times: 1:30pm and 6:30pm Sat thru Tuesday; Final round 10am Wednesday
- We have a special hotel rate of $99/night which includes hot breakfast. Maximum 2 people per room occupancy.
- Prize Fund: $5,000 guaranteed as follows:
- 1st - $1500
- 2nd - $1000
- 3rd - $750
- 4th - $500
- 5th - $250
- Top U2450 - $500
- Top U2350 - $500

Current stats = 3 GMs, 4 foreign players with GM/IM/WGM/WIM title, 8 rated non-titled foreign players
Goal = 6 GMs, 10 foreign players with GM/IM/WGM/WIM title, 20 foreign players total (these final two allows the tournament to be played under rule 1.43e for norms - http://www.fide.com/fide/handbook?id=58&view=article)
